Whether you’re a volunteer, donor, partner, or community member — you’re part of the compassion we deliver. Together, we can expand access to hygiene, hope, and human connection across Pittsburgh.
Our Mission
To provide compassionate, accessible hygiene services and essential supplies through a phased model that begins with hosted or fixed-site shower access, expands through multi-site partnerships, and later adds mobile shower deployment when funding and operational readiness are in place.
Suds of Hope Inc. was founded by LaChel “Chel” Minniefield, a Pittsburgh native committed to creating compassionate, practical solutions for neighbors experiencing homelessness. After witnessing how many individuals in Allegheny County struggle to access basic hygiene resources, Chel built Suds of Hope with a phased, realistic model designed to grow responsibly and sustainably.
We will begin by providing compassionate hygiene kits to individuals across Pittsburgh — meeting people exactly where they are and building trust through consistent outreach. As our volunteer base, partnerships, and supply capacity strengthen, Suds of Hope will transition into hosted or fixed-site shower access, offering hot showers, clean towels, and full hygiene support in trusted community locations.
These early phases allow us to refine operations through real service data, strengthen partnerships, and ensure safety, privacy, and consistency for every guest we serve. Only after funding, insurance, staffing, storage, maintenance, and Board readiness are fully in place will Suds of Hope expand into mobile shower services, bringing hygiene access directly to neighborhoods with the greatest need.
Rooted in compassion and built with intention, Suds of Hope is growing step-by-step — always guided by community need, responsible planning, and the belief that every person deserves care, comfort, and hope.
